Upon discovering his mother’s laptop had pictures on it, the authorities recovered the pictures. They also found that he had been making money by selling photos to pedophiles, which he would purchase through PayPal.
The FBI is currently conducting a financial investigation of Durtschi, who recently removed $400000 from his bank accounts. He has been charged with shooting child porn of teen models and the production of child pornography, and has been ordered detained until he can answer questions about his actions. The FBI spokeswoman says they will continue to investigate the matter.
According to a Forbes article, Durtschi’s Instagram page had thousands of followers and he was making money off his teen model photography. When Paula Ferdkoff was arrested for allegedly soliciting a 14 year old girl to engage in child pornography, the authorities took note of the fact that she claimed to be a teen model. But the police did not have to be blown away when they visited her Lincolnshire home, as the young model and her mother were able to show them some of her alleged nude photos.
In fact, a search of Ferdkoff’s car uncovered many more nudes, including one of a young woman who was not present during the visit. Police also found several items that were not likely to be found on a typical home. After questioning her, police seized photos and other equipment. She was released on a $75,000 bond a few weeks later. The court has not yet set a trial date, but she will most likely be in a Lincolnshire courtroom soon.
